In light of the current situation surrounding Coronavirus-19 (COVID-19), the 9th Annual Cattaraugus County Farmer-Neighbor Dinner scheduled for Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at the West Valley Fire Hall will be postponed.
The Cattaraugus County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board, along with the Cattaraugus County Department of Economic Development, Planning and Tourism, the Cattaraugus County Farm Bureau and the Cattaraugus County Soil and Water Conservation District will host the 9th Annual Cattaraugus County Farmer-Neighbor Dinner on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at the West Valley Fire Hall, 9091 Route 240, West Valley, NY.
The Cattaraugus County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board (AFPB) is in the process of updating the County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Plan (AFPP). A requirement of the planning process is to have public input. To this end, a focus group meeting to discuss recommendations aimed at improving farm business opportunities in the County is convening on February 13, 2020. The meeting will take place in Ellicottville from 11:00 am to 2:00pm.
The Cattaraugus County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board is working on a new County Agriculture Plan. Public input is critical for understanding the complex issues related to area agriculture, and we’d like to hear from you!

Why would you get your farmland added to an "Ag District"?
Cattaraugus County EDPT is currently updating the Ag Trail Brochure, which will include all elements of the previous brochure, but now also include a Farm to Table Restaurants section. This section will include restaurants who clearly state on their website, Facebook, or pamphlet/menu that they use some locally sourced food. Cattaraugus County is also looking to add farm certification information to the Brochure.
